I wanted to write today about what could be coming in the next few months. Those of you that read yesterday’s blog caught a glimpse of what I am talking about. But what I wanted to touch on was being positioned to take advantage of it. Really about taking advantage of the situation whether the dollar goes on a bull run or tracks back to its recent lows.

Now I am not simply talking about being at the computer at the right time to trade. Though that is part of it, it isn’t the whole picture. I was talking to a friend about my trading and he had been looking at a few of the contests out there that don’t really promote responsible trading. You have all seen them, accounts ballooning 150 to 500% in thirty days.

Immediately he started doing the calculations and figured he could be a billionaire in a few years if he took out a second on his house and started trading it. I just kind of smiled and asked him to go look for one extra piece of information. I asked him to go find out who had won that competition the month before last, and the month before that, and so on. I wanted him to see how many of the same names come up.

Evidently, not too many. He even said it was difficult to find the past winners. My point being, if it was that easy, Buffet, Ichan, and Soros would have a lot more company at the top then they do. The fact is that being positioned requires work. Preparation that includes study, discovery, and effort, is the only way to position yourself.

If you truly want to take advantage of the Forex market, you are going to have to work a second job. That’s what it is. Anything worth pursuing is worth the effort.
