I was reminded last night how grateful I am for everything I have in life. By chance I saw a show about a group in NYC that searches for and finds a lot of endangered runaways. In the episode I saw, a sixteen year old girl ran away from home because her mother did not want her dating a known gang member. She was an honor roll student and volunteered and taught at her Sunday school.

I remember being sixteen, and I won’t fault her for her decision, we all make mistakes. After the first 4 days the NYPD had to move on to other cases, neither the parents nor family members had seen her for seven months. Within three days these guys had located her and were reuniting her with her family.

I have never had the heartbreak of missing a child, and I live in a great community. When they were finally reunited everyone was crying and the problems were suddenly less important. The show just brought home the importance of family, friends and loved ones.

For today’s post I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, or whatever else you celebrate. Most of all forget all the worldly stuff and celebrate your relationship you have with your family.

Happy Holidays
