I was reminded of a funny circumstance that I was involved when I first got started in Forex trading. When I began writing my own scripts many years ago, I was trying to accomplish all kinds of Mary Shelly creations. The indicators I came up with were monsters of tremendous proportions. I shared one of them with someone one time and all I got back were ten thousand questions that really only had question at their root, and that was “WHY”? Looking back on those days, I sometimes have to laugh out loud. I tried to find the monster I had created, but evidentially it has floated away, in the mist of the arctic winter never to be seen again. I am not going to completely trash on those days though. I learned a lot and I am a better script writer for it. From that monster I have crafted the most simple and effective alerts and strategies for the currency market. I learned the basics of trading because I was forced to think deeper about the indicator and what price action was telling me. Now I am working on a series of scripts that identify specific candle formations, and price setups. Form the difficult to the easiest; I still enjoy writing them all.
