Popcorn anyone?

Something about scary movies attracts me. It’s not the blood or gore movies that are great. It’s the truly haunting movies that get me all riled up. Here is a list of some of my favorite scary movie scenes, not in any particular order.

1.       The Changeling (1980). John Russell finds a child ball in a desk and throws it away. After it reappears he throws it off a bridge. When he returns home, he hears something coming down the stairs. In slow motion the ball rolls down the stairs and it’s wet. I also love the tag lines form the movie, "How did you die, Joseph...? Did you die in this house...? Why do you remain...?"

2.       The Strangers (2008). After several hours of being chased, toyed with and tortured Kristen asks “Why are you doing this” and one of the scary girls replies with a child like tone, “Because you were home”.

3.       Silence of the Lambs (1991). Aside from the feeling that the film imparts, that there are really creepy guys out there like this, I get creped out any time Hannibal says the name Clarice. Specifically when he says “Hello Clarice”. I heard once that Anthony Hopkins went to see Hannibal, when the credits rolled, he leaned forward to girl sitting in front of him and in Lecter’s voice said “I hope you enjoyed the movie Clarice” I don’t know about you, I would have left carrying my popcorn bucket about waist high.

4.       Ravenous (1999). During the Civil war several military men are on an expedition to find the truth behind the story of a rescued man who claims something wild has eaten his whole party. They stop after one of the men gets hurt. The camp awakens to him screaming “He’s licking me” They truth is that the recued man had eaten his whole group and couldn’t get enough flesh.

Now these are neither the best scary movies nor the best scenes in scary movies. They just happen to be some of my favorites.

If you don’t get anything about trading the forex from this blog, don’t worry, I don’t either.  I just needed a break.
